On Sunday, June 18th, 2017, I will be walking in the Journey to Conquer Cancer.  The purpose of the walk is to bring awareness about Multiple Myeloma and other cancers, and to raise funds for the Molly and David Bloom Chair in Multiple Myeloma Research at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.  The Princess Margaret is one of the Top 5 Cancer Research Centres worldwide.

The goal of this year's walk is to raise $500,000 for Myeloma Research, and a total of $1 million for The Princess Margaret.  My personal goal is to raise $5,000 and our team goal is $10,000.

I ask for your support in raising funds for Multiple Myeloma.  To sponsor me, please click on the green DONATE NOW button at the top right of this page.

In February, 2012, my wife, Munira, was diagnosed with Stage III Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow.  As well, she faced a life-threatening battle with Stage IV Non-Hodgin Lymphoma.  After 12 weeks of intensive chemotherapy treatment, the Lymphoma was put into remission in June 2012.  Myeloma, however, is a pesky disease.  Despite several months of chemotherapy treatment and a stem cell transplant, there is no cure for Myeloma.  This cancer still persists in the background, and may show up again within the next year or 1 1/2 years.

We need your help in getting rid of this disease.  Thanks to funds raised through the Bloom Chair, the brilliant men and women of The Princess Margaret have made great strides in saving and prolonging the lives of myeloma patients.   But, we need more so that we can permanently eradicate this disease.

I hope you will take this opportunity to make a difference, by supporting me to raise funds for Multiple Myeloma research.

Thank you!
Nagib.
