My name is Bert and I am 22 years old.
I was introduced to the Northern Pass ride by my close family friend Garnet. I was born and raised in Toronto but was lucky enough to spend each and every one of my summers on the southern end of Lake Muskoka. I am incredibly passionate about the Muskoka area, sharing it's beauty with the world, and creating a greater sense of community within the region itself. Some of my passions include photography, videography, cycling, design, food, and culture. My primary goal is to create a positive impact with my passions all while enjoying myself and helping others to realize their dreams.
My motivation to participate in the ride this year revolves around both my past and present encounters with cancer. My first memory of cancer affecting myself and our family was when my father’s brother, Uncle Peter passed away. Most recently having seen the effects of cancer on my mother and our family after her brother and my Uncle Michael was diagnosed. I hope that by riding I will inspire others to continue to spread awareness and raise funds for research.
