On June 2nd, 2018, I am honoured to have the opportunity to fight for those who can't by stepping into the ring to participate in the 7th annual Fight to End Cancer in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. I am raising research dollars with a vision of reaching a goal we all share - to Conquer Cancer!
This month will mark 8 years since we lost my Dad to dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans - an extremely rare form of cancer. It was unexpected, untreatable and slowly took over the man that all his friends, family, colleagues and clients knew. This date brings back the best memories of the father I loved so much but also the worst memories of watching him suffer an immense amount of pain. My hope is that this event will help put an end to more families having to endure this unwanted anniversary.
I am really excited to be on this journey and to feel such support from an amazing group of "fighters" - each with their own story and reason for fighting. I don't think you ever really get over the loss of someone you love but NOW is the time I can do something about it - to raise money, to recover and get stronger.
Some would say that cancer makes you weak. I disagree. I think that cancer make you strong.
This fight is for you Dad.
