This Fight Just Got Personal...
Those who know me know that I’m not the most athletic person. So a while back when my colleagues asked me to join team Beanfield Cyclepaths, the thought of being in a SPIN class terrified me so I brushed them off. I’m more of a leisure bike ride through a park, on a paved trail, type of girl.
Just recently, someone very close and dear to me was diagnosed with cancer, stage 4 thymic carcinoma. It tears me apart. I would do anything to help them. I will travel any distance at any time to take them to the best specialists and to sit through every chemotherapy session. If they needed my hair to make a wig - it’s theirs, all of it!
If you pick a fight with someone I love, I will gather an army to take you on. Right Hulk? (Hulk SMASH!!!)
SPIN to Conquer Cancer means something different to me now. It’s not about what I can’t do, it’s now about what I need to do. Raise awareness, raise the money to find better treatments and preventions, make every effort in everything I do to conquer cancer in my lifetime.
I am going to SPIN all morning to heart pumping, exhilarating music. This will very be difficult for me but I am looking forward to challenging myself so I can succeed and do my part to help raise important funds.
Please click DONATE NOW and support my hard work and more importantly, make a difference in cancer research that will help people here locally as well as many others globally.
The Princess Margaret is one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world - when we train scientists and researchers at The Princess Margaret, they share and train colleagues all over the world.
With your help, I will reach my fundraising goal and together we will have done something great.
Maybe you would like to SPIN next to me as a participant or start a team. It's going to be a lot of fun! Register Now
